A virtual phone number is a real phone number that is not tied to a SIM card or a phone line. Calls to it are delivered over the internet to wherever you choose: an app on your cell phone, or forwarded to any other phone. Because the number lives in the network rather than in a handset, it stays the same when you change phones, and you decide when and where it rings.
Digital Numbers gives small businesses exactly that. It is already available in the UK and is coming to the United States.
What you will get
- Your own business number, separate from your personal cell number.
- Calls on your existing phone. Use the Digital Numbers app on iPhone or Android to make and receive calls with your business number.
- Call forwarding to any phone. Prefer not to use an app? Forward calls to another cell phone, a landline or a colleague, and change it at any time.
- Business hours. Set hours for each day of the week. Outside them, callers go to voicemail.
- Voicemail you can check in the app or online.
- WhatsApp Business ready. Register WhatsApp Business on your business number.
- Room to grow. Add more lines for different businesses, team members or sales and support, all managed from one dashboard.

Who it is for
- Sole proprietors and contractors who want a number for the truck and the website without giving out their personal cell.
- Freelancers and consultants who want to stop work calls arriving in the evening.
- Small businesses that want a separate line for sales and support, or a line for each team member.
